With the BRM100160, Laserdesign Zeeland develops its own products. In addition, owner Corné de Rijke offers laser cutting services to others through his company Laserdesign Zeeland.

Why this size with 100 Watt?

The decision to go for the BRM100160 with 100 Watt was based on the solid advice received from VROTECH. The most commonly used power is 100 Watt, which allows Laserdesign Zeeland to produce the majority of their products. Extra power doesn't necessarily improve engraving quality, and the additional cutting thickness that comes with higher wattage wasn't significant enough for their needs. A 150 Watt machine would only provide a few extra millimeters of cutting depth, which was not crucial. The 100160 with 100 Watt proved to be the ideal middle ground. De Rijke also found the price difference with a smaller machine to be small, which led him to opt for the larger size. This gives him a larger work table and the ability to handle bigger items than many of his competitors who chose smaller machines.

Conscious choice for BRM

VROTECH also explained why De Rijke shouldn't opt for certain options. While they could have steered him toward the 150 Watt machine, they didn't because it wasn't necessary for his needs. They took ample time for the advisory process, used clear language, and provided honest advice. This approach was decisive for him in making the final choice.

“Ik bewerk eigenlijk alle soorten hout die je maar kunt bedenken”.

What do you work with the most?

The most common materials are acrylic and wood essentially all types of wood, including veneer, poplar plywood, oak, and MDF. Birch plywood, acrylic, and poplar plywood are always in stock at De Rijke's.

A Learnable User Course?

They learned the basics through an extensive user course, covering topics like how speed interacts with power, as well as more detailed information about the machine itself — for example, the nozzles and maintenance procedures. After the course, they were able to create their own projects, but as they began working more with the machine, they realized there's always more to learn. It requires practice, especially if you don't have a technical background. De Rijke considers himself a perfectionist and has high standards for his work, so it takes time to figure out how to achieve the exact results he wants.

Simply Fun!

There's excellent communication with VROTECH. De Rijke occasionally visits in person or calls if he has a question. Not long ago, they helped him find a specific material he needed, which was really appreciated!
